I just want to see a normally aspirated E53 V8 with 400+ horsepower (maybe?). Papa, waiting patiently for results.

Make sure You have a new oil pump, and make sure that the oil system is flowing well, it is extremly important................oil flow is every thing on these engines..............
Wow, sorry to hear. Nothing against you, but I'm glad I'm not the only one that came to that conclusion. Amsoil from now on in this thing.

They aren't as far as I know. I asked about it, but was told it wasn't necessary.

I haven't added it up, but the shortblock itself was about 6-7k. I honestly don't want to know the actual number at this point.

Maybe if I went higher compression, but I did 10.5:1. I am doing a power adder.

The hurricane cut power to the shop for most of the week, so it really slowed things down. Once it's running NA I'll post up more info on the next step.

I'm sure you are waiting to spill the details but are you going with ESS or Dinan for the SC?

Okay, I FINALLY have the car back and running. Gotta break in the motor, and then it is onto step 2.

I purchased a Dinan blower kit from a member on here and got a bit screwed. It was missing some major parts (fuel system and lower pulley mainly), and I'm busy ordering up parts. I'll post up pics of what I got later on, I just figured I'd give a quick update.

Papasmurf... Is the new engine basically like an original 4.6is engine?, and my x5 has a very pronounced knock when first started but goes away after a few seconds. Is this the beginning of a rod bearing failure?
Thanks!!
