I was lucky, I was one of the few that didn't lose power. It was scary as shit, all the transformers around me kept exploding. The sky was literally glowing with the explosions! I came out today and trees all over the place are down; on top of houses, cars, stores, everything. Power lines down too. It's a mess. The winds were more of a factor for me. I kept looking at the neighbors tree across the street swaying back and forth in my direction.

I'm glad to hear you guys made it through ok!

Twins is right...SPEECHLESS.

I'm sorry for your family's loss.

Yea my wife and baby freaked out when I just left to help my parents, and all hell broke loose. They were mad and happy when I got home. Lol. We couldn't even call each other.

Very little rain, but epic storm surge. The reality of this is still setting in. People are not sure yet what zone A damage is going to cost. They are saying $20 billion. It seemed like it was nothing before, but now, just wow.

The streets are filling up with peoples soaked belongings. Furniture, mattresses, clothes. Some people are already ripping out walls and shit. Food is spoiling too, so we hope sanitation can keep up. I doubt it though, it will take a while to get this cleaned up. Everything smells like the sea.

Sup all.

Well if anyone cares to read, the situation is now officially the worst type of suck I have ever been part of.

I have been helping people out for the past two days. All I ask is for people to let me take the fuel out of their cars if they were not flooded past the wheels. Yes, we are running out of fuel hard core. Today, I saw one gas station, with a line of about 4000 cars. Only 2 pumps working. My F150 is officially off the road. I cannot get it filled up, and it guzzles fuel like a mofo. Although all the fuel I collect is going into it. I figure the X will be out of fuel by Saturday. My Moms camry is out, my pops avalon is at half tank. Brothers car caught a tree, but is drive-able. Full tank of gas in that one, so we are happy. That 4 cyl little putter will run for a month on that tank of gas.

I have trained about 30 people yesterday how to light boilers and water heaters. Trained another 10 or so guys how to clean out water logged boilers and heaters so that the pilot would stay on.

I must have personally lit about 200 pilots yesterday. The streets are getting better, but the carnage is outrageous. My house is still without power or heat.

I would be taking pics, but I really have to conserve whatever power I have on my cell, and honestly, between dodging 2 million people without any traffic lights or cops, and avoiding the mess in the roads, my hands are kind of full.

I came into the office today, only to find out that it just got power, while half of NYC is still without power. Ghost town. it is crazy. I shot across the city in 10 minutes with nearly no lights. Getting to the city was a 3.5 hour ordeal, and I needed to have 3 people in the X to get in. I had 5 by the way. The X is getting abused. I feel bad for it, I promise I will replace all the bushings soon.

Insurance companies seem to have a heart, as peoples claims are getting resolved super quick. My uncle already has a check for the car, and they are finalizing the costs on rebuilding the house. Seagate is still flooded like crazy. The water has receded, but not out of first floors or basements. Generators are becoming paper weights as fuel is really scarce.

I'm off to the docs. I have been putting him off for 3 days, as I am coughing up my lungs now, so I think I might be really sick. Musinex and dayquil are not cutting it anymore.

Talk to you all later.

Thanks guys, but im sure you all would do the same. The emotion you get for people who are just god damn cold is tear inducing. Everyone sees you and everyone begs you for help. I have so much random Boos, as gifts, I'm actually giving it out to others. It's going to get in the 30s over the weekend. I fear this as people are running their stoves, and doing other stupid shit that they are burning themselves down.

Wooohooooo. I have power. Going to doc tomorrow. Just couldn't make it. Sitting toasty right now. CEO passed out on the couch. Baby sleeping arms stretched in her bed. I finally feel relaxed tonight. Probably will manage to sleep.

Just got home after helplessly looking for fuel. Bullshit. Found one place without a $20 limit. Price is 4.60 a gal. Cash only. But here is the kicker. 5 damn hour line. Holy shit.

I am seeing the news finally. Wow, Jersey, you poor SOBs. I wish you all the best. Some of the places I see I can only imagine the craziness. But good news. Seen a whole lot of military show up.

I think one of the biggest problems now is the tranportation outlets. The traffic is brutal. I've set in about 9 hours of traffic today. Insane, and we wonder why we are running out of fuel. But I managed to scoop up 7 tanks of propane from our roofing supplier. Hell yea. I promised 5 to people that have propane generators and need to pump their houses out. The deal is they then pass the tank on. 2 are for me. I have 3 roofs to put back together already, which I try to avoid in the cold. But depends what doc says tomorrow, I might be out of commission anyway. Father in law should be back on Saturday, and I will finally get some releif. His house needs about a square of roofing replaced though first. That's 100 square feet.

I keep seeing some seriously shody construction. Some of the damage should not have happened had it been built properly. It is time for people in the Tri-state to really learn about hurricane straps. Really, sheds, sunrooms, garages, I see all this add-on bullshit fallen like a cards.

I think conditions are improving, but that could be just me, now that my family is warm.
I hope military services brought some big ass equipment. They really need to ease the traffic, get those tunnels pumped out.

Current state of shore house basement. Yes...looking at 3+ feet of water. Still consider ourselves lucky though!!

Luckily my dad is a home builder. This should be fixed quickly. And slick, our home was built well.... Luckily zero structural damage. I remember putting in those damn hurricane windows and metal bands on top of the plywood under the siding. Definitely a strategic move looking back at it!
