you are asking pno? or me? i just got my head cracked on beemers - I had E34 (my wife's very first car, 3.0L V-8, 530i), I used to have E39, still in love with that design, then E53 4.6iS that I hauled around the world until it died on me, and now 4.8is... my sis-in-law had E36 coupe, my cousing used to have E53 3.0... all black!!! hahaha... now i am looking for an E90 for my wife...

yours came as a side project, that was rather easy retrofittable...

Yeah Sandy was pretty ruff. We didn't get much down here in GA but I feel sorry for everyone up north that got it. I don't have any kids yet so I just work and go to school.

Both of you actually. Im just in the Navy so I don't make too much. These cars aren't cheap so having more than one is way above my pay grade lol.

well.. i am on uncle sam's paygrade system too... getting a brand new one at $75K? hell no!!! i got all of them used... just instead of buying a brand new Kia and drive in a Kia, I spent the money on a used bimmer and arrive in class... more than that - fun to drive, i actually look forward to trips on the road... i had taken my 4.6 to 140 MPH - scary!!!! 4.8 is a baby in comparasion to the older brother - the old one has a few battle scars from being shipped around... lol...

but, since these cars sometimes are tempting to be driven hard, some parts are not holding up - before going for a repair to a shop or something, log in to this site and see if someone already repaired it - like the window regulators... there is a $2 plastic part that breaks over time, but if you keep rolling it up and down in hopes that it will start working, then you need to replace the whole regulator... more money... lol...

Yeah I don't think I will ever buy another vehicle new. My wife tried to get me to buy a new one this time instead of this one but I told her I had to have the X5. I haven't had it but like 80 but it is still a lot of fun to drive. I kinda scared myself a little bit when I first laid into the first time. It will definitely surprise you. I already had to replace the drivers door carrier system cause it broke and the radiator reservoir. Both of which I bought from the dealership and then found them online afterwards for about half price. I was so pissed. Thats actually how I found this website though.

there are a few online people that we deal with - the ECS is the board sponsor, there is Pelican Parts, KO Performance, BavAuto just to name few... for the part numbers i suggest using RealOEM.com - you punch in your last 7 of VIN, and then go through the categories to see the parts... also, there is bmw-planet.com, with electrical schematics, and also bmw TIS (i don't remember site's URL) with repair instructions... a lot of us have factory PDFs with retrofit info... also, check sister sites, a lot of things are same between the cars...

Ok thanks again for everything. I do enjoy it a lot so far. Its crazy how people get jealous to when you buy a nice car. I hope it lasts me for many years to come.

Hey man welcome on board. I have read all things you guys were saying and decided to say that for mods go with: angel eyes, fog lights to much hids, tint the windows, change interior lights to led, led tail lights, #1 thing buy running boards wont regret it, plasti-dip the grills and rims might be a good combo. Keep in mind. All this things i listed you could get away with only $1000 or less isnt that crazy only the running boards are costy 300-500
