Transmission Issue: Please help!

Hey All,
My 2001 x5 3.0i has been perfect for years. has 136,000 miles. yesterday it sat outside in about 25 degrees for one day (first cold day of the year) and when i went to start it it was not as responsive when depressing the gas as it normally was.
Could this be TCC solenoid?
I drove it again today and it was perfectly normal.

One thing to note I changed the tranny fluid with Mobil 1 about 10,000 miles ago, no issues to start with, and no issues since then.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry i should have specified... this is the third winter the x5 has been through with the new transmission oil. I put in Mobil 1 fully synthetic ATF fluid. There has never been an issue before this.

UPDATE: The X5 has been fine for several weeks. Last night it sat outside (it only got down to about 25 degrees) and it did it again. After about 1/4 mile it was fine again.
Thoughts?

RPM going up but the car is barely moving, sounds like your tranny or torque converter. Have you looked at the ATF level? When it gets cold ATF fluid contract and when it gets warm the fluid expand. I would check the ATF fluid first. I'm sure there's a certain procedure that you gotta follow to check the level, base on my previous car an Audi Quattro with a ZF trans.

Thanks man, thats a good place to start. the fill hole must be topped off at full operating temperature and while running.

I would check the operating temp, in the Audi you couldn't exceed 20C which is not full operating temp. Engine had to be running and the trans in Neutral. Just remember not to open the fill plug without the engine running or else you the trans is going to puke a lot of the fluid out.

Good call thank you. Does anyone know if it is full operating temp or if it needs to be at a specific tempurature?
