You seem like a performance driver... dont get Conti DSWs... the sidewall deflection will drive you crazy... Keep an eye on the air suspension and transmission... the two weakest links. Enjoy! |

I dunno socket, the DSW don't bother me. I do run them a bit over inflated cause they feel under inflated when at spec. Lol.

lol you guys are hilarious. It would have to be specifically pig hide. Then you would have to eat your floor mats to break the rules. Just putting it out there.

Yea, that's the soft sidewall...it's definitely not a performance summer tire...

Definitively not a summer tire. lol But how much to the limit do you want to go in a 5000lb car? I thought about this when buying too, but decided that I would rather tone it down a tenth, than potentially hurt my truck or something else. It's good enough for the price I think.

so, if it is pig's hide that is not good on saturdays, does it have to be kosher for the other days of the week?

![]() ![]() Great comments guys. Needed to see that this morning. Bit of an update... Got the X back from Co's on Tuesday night, but only to have the CEL come on just as I pulled into my shop. Codes were 2188/2190 (system too lean at idle on both banks). I cleaned the MAF sensor (ordered a new one as well), ordered a PCV repair kit (should be in today), and replaced the fuel filter (due to the built in FPR). Turned out to be the FPR in the fuel filter, so all is well now. I will try to get it to the dyno sometime next week. Have to love the impeccable timing when it comes to parts breaking. ![]() On the plus side, I managed to get an appointment yesterday for the trailer brakes and Passport radar/laser system. That should be all wrapped up on Monday. I am still slightly shocked at how nice the X5 really is. Driving my E55 back to back with it is an eye opener. The E55 is a decent car, but only to the point you drive something as nice as the X5. The E55 has lots of power, it's a wonderful highway car, so simple a child could work on it, quite entertaining when you get to tossing it around some turns, and very reliable. With that said though, the BMW feels a million times better. The transmission is the only letdown (at least that I've noticed thus far) in the X5--that steptragic unit is dazed and confused. I'll really need to spend some time researching the companies I've found for steering wheel paddles. I must have forgotten that, once in a while, BMW does make a good car or two. |
