Take a go pro with. I will do the same when I get mine out to the track. I should have it out there sometime within the next month or so. I am waiting to get the Stoptech kit installed first.
Yep, we've got a Go-Pro but track time will have to wait untill spring time here in the northeast.

You'll chew through a set of tires and brakes in one day.

I debated an autocross, but a track day... X5 too heavy IMO.

It should be quite fun. If you haven't seen Tiff's videos, here's the 4.6is (skip to 12:00): Fifth Gear Season one episode two - full episode - Car Videos on StreetFire

Here's the 4.8is by Tiff: BMW X5 v Porsche Cayenne - Shoot-Outs - YouTube

I should probably explain my vehicle history a bit further, but I've got the track recipe for heavy barges sorted fairly well at this point. It's a mixed blessing, but it keeps life fun. Generally, 355-380mm BBK, Hawk DTC60s, and good rubber tends to get the job done.

More parts in the works...

Throttle body spacer from AFE
Two collapsible tote-boxes for the boot (one from MB one from BMW)
Aux input cable
Wheel studs and nuts to replace lug bolts (from Race Studs)

The PCV repair kit and MAF came in yesterday, so once I get the car back I'll toss em on.

I sent out an email to G-Power regarding their Bi-Tronik ECU tune. I will let you all know what I find out. However, I am going to call Dinan on Monday. I would like to hear what they claim regarding the stage III tune. G-power seems to make more "fun" products than Dinan, but I'd be happy either way. Technica Motorsports still hasn't gotten back to me, so they have been crossed off my list.

Wilco! I'm glad to see there is so much interest in these cars. I never thought I'd see the day that people, myself included, were making SUV's more fun/sporty.

I have Dinan Stage III on my e46 ZHP along with their intake and throttle body and I can tell you that I was very disapointed with it. I barely noticed a difference.
Maybe it will be different on the 4.8 but it sucks on the 3.0

Did you dyno before and after? The best solution for the E46's tends to be an AFE intake, Shark injector, and full exhaust. I would love to do the same on the 4.8. I may be more interested in them come summer, but for the moment I cannot justify $5k for headers, Supersprint or not.

I didn't a before but after was a disappointing 191hp with ideal weather.
I went with Dinan because the car was still under factory warranty at the time. It's got the stock exhaust on it but the shop that installed it said that the ZHP exhaust sytem would be ok. I'm going to put a full Corsa exhaust on it one of these days and see how it eperforms after that...
We're still debating on whether to start modding the 4.8....
