To keep on topic and not piss off the OP, the odd comments people make to me are:

1) Oh my God you must be making a lot of money to drive a BMW (and I tell them its nearly 10 years old so no I'm not rolling in the money)
2) THAT THING IS A STICK SHIFT?????
Sorry. I'm a little defensive after the mixed reception here. I just bought a pretty nice 4.6 so I'm not a complete idiot as some posters seem to think I am.

Only my 3 series buds seem to bitch that I bought a bucket. Funny how my bucket shows them the ass end of my truck every time they try to show me their soap dish is quicker. ahahahaha.

Anyway, you have like 3 threads up, and still no pics. What the hell. It is either pics, or it didn't happen.
Crap. You motivated my to take a photo just now but my camera is dead. Photo by tomorrow! Well, on the POSITIVE side I have been screamed at twice by girls, and thought one girl at a drive through burger joint was going to jump through my window an give me a lap dance while the frys cooked. Then there are the ricers who circle me on the freeway. And the tricked out Camaro that circled me in the parking lot. It's a bit more attention than I was expecting. I had never seen a red X5 in with stock 20's in my area. Apparently not many other people have seen one either.

Comments i got:

Neighbour asked what kinda engine is that and if i swapped a muscle car engine when i started my X5, i love the awesome sound at startup.
My bud's think it looks amazing (like a sports car) as it has a 1 Inch drop from std ride height.
Wife says she feels rich whenever she is in my X
My mgr thought he payed me way too much when he saw me in my X and he was driving his 328i (even though am sure he paid a lot more than me...i bought mine used)
Another bud of mine is a believer now, after i beat his A4 on the street...Ramp to 75 on Highway.. :-)

Just curious;

What difference does it make what other people think and the comments
people make? Why does it bother you?

I'd love to hear some of the odd things people have said about your X5.

Of the comments I can remember so far...

CarToys
"Your speakers are too hard to replace. My advice is to get used to them." (Gee. Thanks.)
"I didn't think anyone was buying BMWs anymore." (Gee. Thanks again! I guess I won't be dropping any $$ bucks at your store.)

Barista
"I like the red. I like the X5 but I don't think I would ever buy one." (Gee. Thanks. Didn't I just give you a tip? Can I have that back??)

I should mention that I'm not a punk kid. I'm just a regular man. Nothing unusual. Not trying to show off. Just trying to enjoy a nice car for once in my life.

The one I get the most is about the color(estoril blue). They always thinks I repainted it. The second one would be about the rear. People always ask if there is something wrong with the suspension since the wheels are tucked in at an extreme angle. lol

One problem I have when I turn the key is accidentally pressing the door unlock button. (I only have one key.) Getting the hang of it now, but when that baby finally comes to life... oh yeah... sweat music.

"Are those window tints legal?!" (limo tint)

"Cool head lights" (referring to angel eyes)

"Why are your tires so big" (315s in back)

The best was a BMW tech that I spoke with before buying the X5. "Hey, I'm thinking about buying an X5 4.6is"... the FIRST words out of his mouth were "Those are pieces of shit"
