I would put adhesive on the black piece and then stick the glass back onto that.

i ended up doing that, 4 small dots of crazy glue on each corner

Sounds perfect.

BTW, those "squiggly" lines on the back of the mirror glass are the heating elements.

My passenger mirror started doing the same vibration/looseness today. Just fixed my drivers side with epoxy about a month ago.
Tempting to sell the bmw with only 108k kms on it (2006) now before it completely falls apart. Haha but then I have to buy something else.
