Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Hey Danny I was 18 not too long ago, wanted to mod my car and didn't have the cash either.

If I can give you one piece of advice its "do it right or do it twice", the scorpion mufflers would sound good as well as a brand name magnaflow. Save your money to do it right, take it to a muffler shop and select some nice mufflers to weld or bolt in place and you should have the sound you're looking for.

Ditch the ebay specials, this isn't a Scion xB

Just chop off the muffles and run straight pipes back from the x-pipe. Gonna sound great and I would do it on my car if I didn't have an aftermarket exhaust on it.

There are several youtube videos if you want to sample the sound.

Any specific x pipe I should look into? I could only find one video on the tube of a muffler delete and an x-pipe. It also sounded a bit raspy.

A good quality, non-eBay x-pipe?

I've seen guys use Magnaflow on this forum. I'm sure a good custom car shop can fab up their own x-pipe for a good price. Just make sure you know what material they are using and if it will rust down the line.

I seriously doubt that a V8 is going to rasp. My setup isn't an X5, but it is an x-pipe to Britalman cans (basically straight pipes). On my 5.0L V8, I get no rasp at all. There is drone under 2k RPM, and lots of burble upon engine braking.

If you have an I6 engine, I wouldn't even get an x-pipe. Just cut the mufflers off and keep the resonators. Should keep rasp down.

Could of just been the camera not being able to record the sound properly. Ill decide whether to do an xpipe after the muffler delete.

Yea I've done that ^^ but I'm just not sure if they have an X-pipe like I do, because it wasn't noted on any of the videos I've found..
