Upallnight, while snippy, is correct, the FIRST next thing to do is test fuel pressure. If you rent a gauge pick up a fuel filter while you are there. If pressure is low you can try changing the filter and then test it again. If it still does not pass the test we have pinpointed the problem is the fuel pump.

Enjoy your time at the lake. If you feel you have exhausted your efforts in trying to pinpoint the problem for me, you are welcome to discontinue your efforts. I appreciate your efforts all the same and thank you for selling me the DISA valve.

Searching for fuel filter replacements, does this fuel filter Amazon.com: Mann-Filter WK 532 Fuel Filter: Automotive have the pressure regulator attached? I can't seem to find clarification. There is this other one
Amazon.com: Hengst Fuel Filter with Regulator: Automotive That says it comes with the pressure regulator. The Mann-Filter is cheaper. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't think upallnight will give up. If you can't get to the store to get pressure tester you can test for any flow at all at the fuel rail. you will need a helper to turn the key on and off so you can be under the hood and catch any fuel. Or, disconnect the line at the fuel filter so you can check it without the fuel filter in. Obviously, you have to be extremely careful and prepared for a potential fire.

Also, is my DISA valve in correctly? http://i.imgur.com/DwDBmZf.jpg Anyways, I gave it overnight, removed and replaced the fuel relays and unplugged/plugged in the Fuel Pump. Still not starting. It is wierd because it was fine yesterday (at least the idling was) and now it is turning over, but no starting. Starting to sound more and more like a fuel issue. Fuel Filter or Fuel Pump. I'm calling around to see where I can find a fuel pump, as for the fuel filter I am looking to amazon. I posted a link to a Mann-Filter Fuel Filter, but it doesn't say if it comes with the fuel pressure regulator or not. Does anyone else know about these things? I figure I might as well change the fuel filter anyways since it has never been changed to my knowledge, and I have driven it almost 50k miles. As for the fuel pump, I am looking to see if I can get a used one cheap from a dismantler and replace it to see if that fixes the issue.

the OE filter comes with pressure regulator built in - i thnk it is INSIDE the tube, so if anyone is selling the unit as a BMW fuel filter, the regulator should be inside

Isn't the round cylinder at the tip of the fuel filter the regulator?
