Except a 2008 Peugeot 206 cabrio we had in Mexico that lost a line at just over 1 year old (and just out of the 1 year warranty) I have never heard of a break line failing without outside help.
Money sent for the manual.

brake lines.. separate and collapse over time.. It happens.. Not just on BMW's.
I can see why you are frustrated.. Im sure you will be happy with the lexus.. Every car, and brand I owned have their own set of issues. Some more than others.. and I believe the x is up there at the top of the list. |

Don't get me wrong - I loved the X5 but according to the dealer they had 20 over the last year with the same problem - to me this is a design flaw, much like the oil seperaters.
Again, I think this is the best board out there and I will miss all the friends I made. |

I had the problem in the late 80s/early 90s while I lived in NJ. My Jeep and Honda CRX both needed metal/rubber hoses replaced. I learned my lesson with those cars, new fluid every 2 yrs and clean/seal the lines every spring now.

+1. The CRX was fun to drive and cheap to operate.
