Excellent write up! I was looking all over the web and various forums for a detailed write up and yours was exactly what I was looking for. I actually attempted the job this past weekend and failed once I saw how hard the top torx bolt was to reach and undo. I have since ordered the correct tools and should be giving it a try again this or next weekend. One thing though, the bold size on mine was the e12 torx. Don't know if they're different but mine's an 03.
Also wasn't aware I needed new bolts like you do when doing a cylinder head job due to the torque specs. I'll post an update once I am successfully done with the project.
