Based on what, if I might ask? The PO of ours (a good friend) has always raved about it worked in the winter.

And to the OP: nice to hear from another Albertan.

I'm selling the S4. Why do you say they aren't good in the snow? They should be very solid with the proper set of tires mounted. It was all traction (tire sizing / compound) issues from what I could tell driving it around with the current all season steamrollers.

x5 is more than capable of driving in the snow with proper tires, it's the cold temperatures that our cars don't like too much... browse through this forum and you will find a few things you need to be careful about with our V8 engines during colder months...
As for 100K km service - i think inspection 2 should be done around 90K kms...I would look into that. there are a few posts on this forum about what is involved in inspection 2... sorry can't remember from the top of my head...

Hard to tell from the pics - what color is your truck? LeMan Blue?

Didn't say they weren't good in the snow, just that they aren't good in the COLD. From CCV that freezes to intermediate that get out of sync when the temp drops, our Xs are not the best cold weather cars/trucks/suv/sav.

Congrats and
That's a good deal you got, with minor/easily fix problems.

Glad to hear they are simple problems. I plan to do all the work myself unless somehow I don't have the special tools or time. Also good to see fellow albertans on here!

Picked up some skinny snowtires today.

255/55R18's should be tight over the brakes as the ID of the wheel is ~17.75" but they came off a 4.4i. 1.33% oversized from stock diameter.

Now to find some spacers and get rid of the rediculous sucked in look it will have on the rear.

Engines don't like the cold so much? Is it a matter of just paying attention to Oil/Coolant temps before walking on the throttle or more complex issues?
