Isn't the ccv is just a cyclone separator? How can it freeze?

Condensation from oil that doesn't get warm enough often enough I suppose. Take care of it by going on longer drives periodically?

Congratulations and welcome!

X5 is fine in the winter with the right tires.

It is also a good tow vehicle. Have a friend that was towing an M3 all over Texas every weekend. It was a supercharged 4.6. They were towing at 70mph most of the time.

Not to worry about hydrolock. There is a CCV system for extreme cold. It probably already has it.

The issues you listed are not difficult to correct--good luck!

I don't think dealers repair transmissions and that is why they said it had to be replaced. Suggest you have a well recommended tranny shop check it out. I am confident your cost can be substantially reduced.

sunroof cassette

just a word of advise, if you are feeling saucy don't attempt the repair of the sunroof cassette without someone around who knows whats going on, i am a bmw technician and fixing the cassette is right up there as one of the hardest repairs you can do i know this from experience, mine is broken as well and i haven't even thought about trying it yet..

All the small parts and gaskets then getting it to sync together is the main trouble?
