You're very close. According to Car and Driver road test in 2002 the 4.6is top speed is 144MPH limited by air drag.

I stand by my fuzzy math. Guestimation .pdf is attached, for what it's worth.

edit: Kinda bored, I'm caught up on all my work at the office and go on vacation soon! I might have to try that I-95 thing on my way down to FL. Wife would not condone, but we'd make darn good time. I'll just wait until she falls asleep.

Saw the Car and driver test from '02. I think they got an abused 4.6is for their test.

From Motor Trend.....

"Top speed is electronically limited to 150 mph with the standard 20-in. rolling stock, 143-mph with the optional 19-in. wheel/tire combo."

Saw one mag test where the '02 4.6is ran 153mph with V-Box verification.
