e39 drivetrain swap into e53
anybody know of info on swapping the engine, tranny and rear diff from a e39 m5 into a 4.8is?
curious to know the costs involved in regards to custom parts needed, I can get a wrecked m5 no problem and a x5 manual for the pedals and stuff labor I can do myself what kind of coding or programming would I need to do? would it be possible with inpa, or ncs expert or gt1? ^ realized that this is not the smartest way to get more hp, so I want to change my question to what is the difference from a m5 engine to a 4.8is, and how much hp would aftermarket exhaust headers add, and a link to a 6speed swap would be much appreciated
