Nissan GTR exhaust tips type on x5

Guys, I'm really considering changing my exhaust tips..Am I the only one who doesn't like the stock oval tips of the 4.8/4.6?

Is anyone liking this style tip?i'm thinking of buying something similar...If I'm not mistaken, the pipe is about 4" in diameter.

Also, does anyone know the dimension of the pipes on the stock 4.8?..2.5"?lets say if I wanna order like a 2.5"/4" tip? or it doesn't matter since there's welding involved anyway the shop can figure it out?thx

Yes I'm referring to the pipes that actually run te length of the car..so they're only 2"?for some reason I thought they're 2.5" ..at least from the guys that changed their tips looks like they bought 2.5"inlet /3.5"outlet

By the way I measured the opening and it's roughly 4" by 7,5"...couldn't get under the car to measure the pipe though..

You misunderstood!Never said the pipes running the whole lenght of the car!If you just want to change the tips ,then its the dimension of the pipes joining up to the oval tips(these are 2") .The pipes that run the length of the car up to the back of the rear mufflers ,are 2.5" (63.5mm),as I have them on mine.
Thought you were just talking about the 2" tailpipes and the welding up to the 4" GTR.,like so.Anyway ,I am just trying to be helpful

Ok that makes sense ..I thought they must be 2.5" either before or after the muffler.now that clarifies it.i need 2" inlet 4" outlet

After I'm all done, the oval ones will be up for grabs.

Could look good. I have the black down turn tips on the car and i kinda wanted an oval or larger tip to fill the space a bit more

Im curious to see how this would turn out.

No luck as of yet..just been really busy with work...getting done one thing at a time..sometimes I feel like I work for my car lol
Anyway, found a set of used genuine gtr tips on ebay I didn't jump on them yet...after a suspension, brake and tranny refresh, I'll get to those tips one day too..hopefully before the winter.will update this thread once they get installed.

Thats funny. I actually think the oval tips suit the X5 really well. I want to get some for mine as I have the turned down style.
