Guys, I didnt have the time to read this whole thread, have you resolved this???

IF NOT - I was having this exact problem....

It ended up being rectified when I dumped Tranny fluid (pan and gasket off) changed tranny filter, and filled to specs (You tube DIY).

THis rectified the issue IMMEDIATELY and I have never had it since....

Dont know if youve tried it but give it a go, worth a couple $$$ versus new tranny...

Cheers

Justin

How much of a shake are you talking about? That has been on my list but I've been putting it off while troubleshooting the shake. I'm doing the transfer case on Tuesday. Transmission fluid on the short list.

DIS is part of a package of software that you can purchase. This link is to, I think, the Romanian supplier recommended. It requires a windows based computer. It works very well with XP. I think the majority that use the software have a laptop that is only for this software due largely to how much memory it eats. You can get help here for install and for many of the things you can do with it. This is the software the dealer uses. Indy shops that specialize in BMWs also use the software.

Just dropped the X off to have them swap out the transfer case tomorrow. Broke my arm yesterday, so I'm hoping I have better luck with this repair tomorrow.

It was truly a Clark Griswold moment. Just hoping I get good news on the family truckster later today.

Well, the transfer case helped, but we're going to do both front axle CV shafts next week. It looks like either the shaft(s) went bad and took out the transfer case or vice versa. I'm guessing vice versa since the joint was also so bad on the rear drive shaft.

So that and transmission service and hopefully good to go.

When my arm heals up I have window clips, an iPod connection and nav screen to put in myself.
