It dried out pretty well, but I noticed something else - after an hour of idling with the heater on, the air wasn't particularly warm. I filled the hotel ice bucket with water and poured it on the sunroof, windshield, and air intakes at the base of the hood. No leaks that I could see-a good sign.

This may just be a case of too much snow and my son not paying a lot of attention to the situation.

But now he wants to drive the E70...

I had this issue with low/poor heat and it turned out to be a faulty fairly new aftermarket Heater control valve. This is the thing on the driver side (US) with two solenoids on it and heater hoses running to it. Feel the hoses going into and out of this valve and you may find the bad actor.
