Well no loaner but getting both airbags replaced Monday 06 NOV at BMW of Fremont. Fortunately they are within a mile of my office. But really odd that two dealerships here aren't providing loaners as promised in the BMWNA letter.

Well, ended up getting a loaner anyhow. They couldn't get it finished yesterday and gave me a loaner to use. A brand new 2018 X5 3.5. There are a lot of things I like about it, but a lot more I dislike. Like the lane departure warning. If you don't use a signal it vibrates the steering wheel when you are leaving your lane. Not real happy with the steering response either. In my 2008, it holds straight and is very responsive, this 2018 feels like it's floating all over the road. I do like the latest version of the NBT and the dash restyle is very friendly. I even like that they brought back the hot/cold dials for the vents. No longer have to go through screens to get to reset.

But the seats aren't nearly as comfortable as mine and it's missing a lot of the creature comforts I'm used too. But still a nice vehicle overall. If they offered to trade straight across for my '08 I think I'd have to pass. LOL

Just got a message that my X5 is now ready to pickup, 29 hours after dropping it off. Guess their 5 hour driver and passenger airbag replacement window was a bit understated.

Well figured out part of the reason they took so long to get this accomplished. Instead of simply swapping out the drivers airbag assembly, they actually took it apart and replaced the airbag and re-used the cover. Geeze!

I'm gonna take my 08 4.8 for passenger airbag recall but I recently got my passenger restrain malfunction along with the air bag light and seatbelt light that won't go away! I tried clearing with rheingold and no luck will this effect me when I take it in for the recall

Can't say for sure but it shouldn't keep them from performing the replacement. I noticed they also took apart my center console and it look like they replaced the airbag control module too. If your error is from the passenger occupancy mat they will probably tell you about it, but nothing more.

Thumbs up

Just finally got my Passenger airbag replaced. They have to pull the whole console to replace it. Also had the fuel pump replaced. It took all day and they gave me a loaner 2017 X1. Very pleased with the service at Spokane BMW. Now for the wait for the PCV heater replacement. This is new, just got the letter 2 days ago. Hope you all have as good a service experience as I had.
Regards
wjibby

Driver was replaced about a year and a half ago. Passenger was just replaced along with the fuel pump. They have to rake the whole dash out to replace it, I guess.
