x35d rpm @ 70mpg

I know the e70 x35d has a 6 speed transmission. Can anyone tell me the rpm's at highway speed in 6th? Thanks much!

Around 2000@70mph. Way too much to be efficient.

Has anyone tried to circumvent the overly short 6th gear? Gear swap or otherwise?

Why? just drive it and enjoy. Fuel savings would be so minimal vs cost i think.
I like the shorter 6th gear for when passing on the highway.
Unless you are doing cross country all highway drives regularly, i say just enjoy your x5 Or get a civic hybrid lol

The complex nature of the 6hp transmission would make a single gear swap about impossible.

You would be better off to swap the axle gears, but the diesel already likely has the tallest gearing available.

xHP will be releasing support for the x5d this month or next. It is a TCU reflashing app initially built for the 335d. Allows for predefined maps from them or custom packages to be built.

xHP Flashtool - Tune your BMW ZF6HP Transmission

Thread if you want to follow progress - Transmission remap - Let's do it ourselves

How is this going to help with a final drive ratio issue?

Any update on availability? The X5d shifting strategy is awful...
