I'm hoping the extra film strength of the Redline 75W-110 that's in my diffs helps to prevent this! Ugly! X5s really should have come with 210mm diffs commonly used in M-cars and earlier 5 and 7 series. Much stronger.

Entropy. Found this thread. Do you have 75W-110.

I have had 75-110 in ours formerly. I felt the drag. Went back to 90W.
Rear diff work. Just debating on which oil i want

I've had 75W-110 in both the front and rear diffs for almost 30k miles now. I highly doubt you'd be able to feel the difference between the two. Placebo effect? 75W-110 is the same viscosity as the 90 when cold, and only slightly thicker when hot.


I plan on replacing the fluid in both with another round of 75W-110 when I reach 30k miles.
