DPF Removal Time, which kit/tune?
It's been ages since I looked into this and followed the few threads here. It looks like Lambeau is still rocking on with his setup. I also randomly noticed that BPC (Bimmer Performance Center) is in Raleigh, NC. I go up there for business often, and thought that might be convenient. What are the current opinions on which DPF Removal pipe and tune to use. It's street car, it's my daily. That said I have had lots of tuned cars, so I am not a newbie at this game. I would love more power of course (buddy just bought Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, have to keep up right?), but don't want to overload the tranny. Obligatory pic.... ![]() |

Beware though that they will probably rip on you for your M color grille pieces. ![]() There has been some controversy over BPC tunes, reports of all engine codes being blocked, disabling of limp mode, etc. I'm not sure if they have revised this or not. Malone and JR Tuning are very popular. AARodriguez European Tuning by Malone and JR AutoTuning is in Dallas, GA and I believe he does all JR for BMW tuning. Malone, JR and DUDMD will all tune remotely as well. There are a few exhaust and delete parts options. ATM offers a real nice downpipe and midpipe, and they just released an awesome intercooler upgrade as well. |

Firstly, get rid of the M color grill
![]() I personally would stay far away from BPC. They block out the CEL codes which makes finding issues a nightmare. I have JR's stage 2.8 tune and I love it. It's a clean tune with tons of power. It took my mechanic and I 7 hours to delete the egr, dpf, scr and both urea tank. For the dpf, you have to drop the subframe and passenger side motor mount. I just placed the order for the TCU tune with DWR today.

Well thank you for all of the replies. As for the M-Grill....I get it and it comes and goes on my car. Right now I like it so it stays, when winter comes who knows. A few friends refer to it as "snaggle teeth," but they own Cayenne's. But keep ribbing me on it though, a little good natured ribbing is fun.
If BPC does that then it would be a big no go. Obviously you only want to pertinent codes removed, not everything. Dallas, GA. Thats a lot closer drive the NC for me. Hmmm. Will have to see if they will do the install. Good find. NOX Warranty sounds great. What would be even more ideal is for BMW to at 77k miles (warranty ended at 60k) to do a CBU cleaning free when then fix the NOX! Wishful thinking I know. |

I cleaned my CBU at 75k miles and did not notice any driving or MPG improvements. IMHO CBU is more of a 335d issue. For my X5, the intake was a mess but the valves were not that bad.

As for the CBU cleaning....I will prob check it out, and clean if needed. My next curiosity about the tune etc is how big should I go. It’s a daily and I think the biggest issue for the vehicle would be over doing to tune, and exceeding the torque limits on the tranny. I wouldn’t be racing it, or launching it, but still. Great timing. I just purchased the Buzzkin kit and I'm shopping tunes. I'm deciding between JR and DUDMD.

Go with DUDMD. Dima is a great guy and you can make it a road trip to Auburn!
