I will look into the DWR, as my local shop will install the XHP license for me (and subsequently I will own the license and can change flashes on the fly) - I still have a ways to go before I do a TCU tune, but I absolutely agree that the shift points need changing on the diesels for best economy - Wouldn't be surprised if you got better economy from a TCU tune than a DDE flash


She's at 68k now, I am looking to get the full ZF trans service done somewhere between now and 75k and want to do the flash at the same time-


What else did you need besides the Android tablet? (I don't own one) and which OBD cable are you using?

What tune and downpipe are you going with? I'm not going to lie, I am s little worried about the transmission and transfer case but that's why I serviced them.

I was thinking of having AAROD do al the work and his tune. I could choose stage 2, 2.5, 2.8 depending on how worried I was about that too. On the one had I would be worried at 2.5 or 2.8, but then again I never to a dark launch from start, where that land would be the worst. No one has been able to tell me what the tranny or T-Case are rated for torque wise. I had a pretty hot-rodded Audi and was able to learn form XF directly (web searches) what that cars version of their 8 speed auto was rated for torque wise, and I just stayed under that.

The ZF transmission is very stout, however from speaking to my local shop, it does need to be serviced regularly at stock power levels - from the tech at the shop who is doing tuning etc for me:


"Our tech went to the ZF class and they recommend fluid and filter change service every 60k miles, 80k at the absolute most"


If you are tuned and/or tow, I would definitely take that figure down to 40-50k intervals just to be safe

Nope... Get some good primer and a can of paint from here:
Touch Up Paint and accessories | AutomotiveTouchup

Mask around them and paint them in place, can be done in about an hour.
They will disappear.

Unfortunate. After reading all of the horror stories that was the very first piece of maintenance for the wife's e70 when we bought it 2 years ago. Replaced all 3 pieces.

Very nice e70 though. I envy the LCI appearance upgrades that the wife's is missing... but what are you gonna do. We just crossed 156000 and when the emissions systems start giving us big money problems I will be revisiting your thread. Keep the updates coming.

Ironically I would check the partitions about once a month and i never felt any rain water. The left and right partitions haven't cracked, neither has the center one. What happened was the weather stripping on the center partition wore so thin it would let water through. Now I'm going to replace the center partition with the updated part and reapply the weather stripping on the left and right partitions. I'll post more pics soon.
