CCC to CIC Idrive controller with Android system?
But I am looking to add one of the 10.25" Android systems to replace the Idrive screen. And they have options within that to account for which BMW system you have. So I'm curious if anyone has done this and been able to just use the CIC controller with the android system and not do any coding? If need be I will figure out the coding on my own and then make a short tutorial for it. Sure would be great if someone had a source for that information though. |

CCC to CIC Idrive controller with Android system?
The android system will work with any controller u like provided u tell the seller what u got .. however you will still need coding if u choose to upgrade the controller because the android system does not replace the idrive system.. it’s add-on.. so you will be left out of the ccc
P.S. the android will take commands from the controller via the CAN system .. so I believe it won’t work with the new controller unless you code it to your CCC. So their stick with the old controller .. or code the new one before adding the android screen. Dr. Moustafa Kassab Bmw e70 2012 Last edited by Dr.M.Kassab; 04-19-2019 at 01:09 AM. |

Following. I have CCC and the android 10inch unit. I want to upgrade the controller to the CIC version (need to program it to my CCC system), but I figure it will work just fine when in android mode. I'm not good with coding, etc, but funny you posted this because I was looking for the same thing.

The more I get into this BMW, the more I am thinking I will be making a good number of very specific coding videos to go with my Vlogs. It's rather absurd how hidden this simple information stays. |
