OK so looks like the Fuel pump was the main issue, the X5 is running but still a little rough and cylinder 3 & 6 have occasional misfires. (Coils?)

On the X5 there is a main pump on the left side and a sending unit on the right side of the tank? Is this correct?

They still have to replace the fuel filter which came in late and valve cover

So to this point here is what has been done

- New Plugs
- Fuel Pump

Pending
- Fuel Filter
- Valve Cover

will keep updating....

Going to be a big bill. Good luck.

Hopefully they'll at least get it running right after all the money spent.

Right! out the door it $2150. Could have done it all myself with OEM part for 1/4 of that $$$$$

Definitely stinks that you had to go through all of that with so much distance between you and the car - but very glad it’s back in one piece and seems to be running

I hope it stays that way and that the investment, though crappy... is worth it for a while!

Glad you got it sorted. Could have been a lot worse with a dealer. It does suck to have to rely on them and bend over though. Been there before as well. Hope your daughter has many miles of uneventful driving before it's next service call.
