Aftermarket valve covers
Anyways I bought a URO valve cover from rock auto (it was the most popular valve cover so I thought it would be reliable) and it pulls a strong vaccum. The oil cap is suctioned on well. After turning off the engine the vacuum is still maintained. I’m having a hard time understanding what’s going on. It’s throwing code 28A0, throttle valve opening angle absolute pressure intake pipe comparison too high. Also, does anyone have any luck with any of the aftermarket valve covers?https://photos.app.goo.gl/cRpMxZBkq1XyTr4t5 Last edited by dennisvab; 03-14-2025 at 11:32 AM. |

For the N52 the metal Chinese cover is pretty good, not sure about the N55 though. If you order on Amazon you can support the US economy as well!
Maybe list the code description and give some history for what you are dealing with.

If it's like the N52, the CCV diaphragm has a vent port (to atmosphere) that you could check, if there is vacuum the problem is there.

I tested the diaphragm on the new valve cover and it was operating correctly. Installed the old valve cover, to rule it out. Same problems. Same cel.
Gave in and bought a smoke machine. Found a huge leak in the pipe from the turbo to intercooler. Got a used one coming in from eBay, hopefully that will take care of the issue. |
