There have been similar designs like that flying around. I'm guessing the rear is going to be a little larger.

Itīs from a German Magazine: http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/d/110815 and itīs definitly a PS, but I wanted to post it in this thread to compare it with other spy-pics. I think, that this pic shows very good the original form of the new X5, .. we will see in few months

thanks!

According to the article, the new X5 will be about 10 cm (6 inches) longer than the current X5. They will have iDrive, and (in Europe, I guess), a 3.0 diesel engine, a 4.8 V8, and for 2007, they are "adding more" six-cylinder engines. (They were not clear about how many or which ones.)

so, there... the anticipation is killing me, though! lol

I think, by the end of the year we have original pics, but I´m sure we will love it. Theres always something like "love on second sight" with BMW, maybe you don´t like it when you see it for the fist time, but after looking at it for a longer time you like it more and more, a kind of polarization.

i.e., e90, e60, etc..They do seem to take a little while, but always get us in the end...

Hmm, I dunno....I realized the E53 X5 was one of the first BMW that was designed/approved by Chris Bangle and you can see some of the early flame surfacing on the side of the E53 X5, but some of the newer designs are okay....I have grown to like the E65 facelifted 7-series, but I still don't get the E60 5-series. I like the E90 3-series. The 6-series is fine with me, but still really don't like the huge butt, but it seems to fit better than the 7-series. The Z4 is okay.....

Yes, it´s kind of learning the design of Bangle. If you have seen the 6-series as a first bangle-bmw I think you would hate it, but there was the 7-series and the Z4 before, so you are prepared for the next series. The 7 was a shock for everybody, but now, when the series are completed (1, 3, 5, 6 and 7) there is one bmw-design and everybody identifies it with bmw. When the 7series started, nobody identified it with bmw because it was VERY different. I think the strategy was great and bmw is now selling more cars than mercedes and audi, because its design isn´t boring.

EDIT: sorry fo my bad English
