are the active ventilated seats that much of an improvement over the sport seats?

yes, they add several more adjustments....which imo make a huge difference + 2 key additions:
1. Ventilated seats- air flow which cools your back down on hot days.
2. Active seats- There is a massage action in seat bottom.
  • 20-way power multi-contour front seats - include standard 10-way power seat functions, plus additional power adjustment functions for shoulder and thigh support, backrest width and lumbar support (contour and position), plus 2-way manual lateral adjustment for comfort headrest
  • Active seat for driver
  • Front ventilated seats (requires Nevada Leather/Perforated)

Might have to check them out after all... I was thinking it was probably overkill, not necessary, but might give them a look.

Thanks!

All I really wanted was the Multi-Contour (Comfort) seats, but the dealer had the Active Ventilated in stock so I took them thinking is was too much. But the first hot day made me realize how valuable the "ventilated" part of this package will be for me here in Louisiana....really makes a huge difference.

Regarding the 20-way seat adjustments, once you get it set properly it is really awesome. Like I said its feels like the seat is custom molded to my back. The main difference is the upper back adjustment and the side bolsters adjustment. The entire seat actully touches my back in the driving position.

I'm not ordering active steering. This might be useful for wommen that don't want to turn the steering wheel with a "normal level of effort". The high speed stapility ratio decreasing might be useful here in Germany but these days the traffic is so dense that I find it hard to justify here as well.
