Other people who can afford BMW cars, buy X5 as an added fleet to their other BMWs. But I do not expect X5 to be as reliable as other SUV/SAV and I didnt buy it just for that reason.

Sooo why did you get an X5 instead of a 550 or 645?

I already have my fun car, a M3, plus an OK sedan to tool around in, my wife's IS-350. My current daily driver is a Land Cruiser. Bullet proof reliability, OK to drive, but boring as can be.

Haven driven the E70 a few days to test, it's obvious BMW made no compromise in the handling and fun to drive department. My concern is of course reliabiity.

Here is my dilemma, and I'm sure I am not the only one with this. The Land Cruiser and the X5 are on complete extreme opposite sides of the SUV spectrum. Since I already have a full performance BMW, I wish BMW would have moved slighly off full-on-performance design towards very good performance with better reliabilty.

Yes, I want my cake and want to eat it too!!

My earlier point was, do people really want to buy an SUV for maximum performance at the sake of reliabilty when they can own a BMW car for that purpose.
