any regrets?

Ok, so as I'm about to order my E70 4.8i, I have (what I hope to be) a couple of final questions:

With all of the issues reported on here, some small, some not so small, do those of you who have your new X5's, those who have had these issues, does anyone wish they had or think it would be better to wait a few months or wait till the 2008 model comes out in hopes that these issues will have been worked out?

Also, how likely do you all feel it would be that in a few months or in the '08 models, some or all of these issues would be worked out (and which ones do you think would not be)?

I have only had my FX45 for 2 years. So, I can wait a few more months or even till January and can still sell it with plenty of warranty left, if I want/need to...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

1st year problems

As with any new vehicle, there will be some minor and some major issues. When it comes to BMW, and all it's electronic stuff, it's always best to wait at least a year before buying one. But at the same time, not every owner will experience problems with their new X5. But the general rule is to always wait a year.

Hopefully BMW will correct any minor or major issues before the next model year starts this September.

Good luck.

How many, if any, of those things does BMW seem to fix along the way with the software updates and things of that nature?

No Regrets at all.

Sure everyone has buyers remorse after dropping down a chunk of cash, its natural...but the problem is you have these feelings regardless. If you wait...there is always yet a better version the next year, so this feeling is perpetual.

I don't mean regrets about spending the cash, more about "should've waited till the second year," only because it's a new model and has those 1st year kinks to work out... basically trying to gauge how many such "kinks" there are and if it makes it worth waiting till the second year, not for a better model necessarily, more just for a more stable one.... if this one can at all be seen as "unstable.."

same thing, thats what I meant....there will always be kinks not just first year. I have ZERO regrets!

I could have waited for 2008, but then would I regret that I didnt wait for 2009, then regreted I didnt wait till 2010...it goes on and on- the car will always be improved. If you need a new car why would you ever wait?

BTW- "unstable"...who ever said the car is unstable. I love my X5!

If I waited until a car was perfect before I bought it..... I would still be riding my bicycle. The E70 is great. No regrets.

If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything, is ready, we shall never begin...
