Software update enable front access to Rear Entertainment?

I've had my new 3.0 for about 5 days now, and while I'm enjoying the vehicle, there are a few things bugging me about it. On this software topic, can anyone with the Rear Entertainment option confirm that they can control (start, stop, FF/RW, etc) a rear mounted DVD from the front IDrive? I can only select AUX and have the DVD audio play through the speakers, but I can't control the DVD. Pretty much defeats the purpose of entertaining youngsters in car seats who can't figure out the remote (which, by the way, is also horrible... but that is for a different thread).

I have to take the vehicle in for service this week to replace a running board (rubber grommets are not attached in the passenger side so the whole board is a slippery water trap) and replace/repair the center safety belt because it won't pull out from the seat. So, I'd like to have them update software while they are at it. Appreciate any feedback!

My SA is looking to flash the new software tomorrow morning. I really use the RTTI function. What version is giving all the problem? I want to check before he does it.

My SA just called about RTTI and said it had a glitch and new v25.1 will solve the problem which he'll try to have it installed this week. I don't know how much this guy knows about the updates 'cause he told me the updated software had 'on/off' swith will solve everything before my current update. Also I remember reading some members on this board had v25.1 or even v25.2 and still were having same problem. He also asked me not to participate in their servay untill they get this solved.

I've heard people talk about SAs giving this 'on/off' switch explanation, but I think its a crock of SHIT.

Well I hope not. Car is in the Shop now and will see what happens. I am sure they will let me know. I will let all know on this board when I get it back what happens.

To use one of my favorite terms: I think someone is peeing on you and telling you it is rain. I've seen (I think in this thread) later versions used, with the RTTI issue persisting.

I hope it is fixed for you---as I want to have specific instructions for my own service advisor when mine goes back in for the check engine light. (For the third time.)

As of today my Service Manager told me that V25.1 fixes the problem, and they'll have it availble for me tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be able to have it downloaded until the week after next. I'll be cruising down the coast of Mexico next week.
