More than the known issues that are pretty minor,I honestly think that you should worry more about the RFT tires because I flat tire = new tire. I experienced this yesterday. I small puncture on the grove (not sidewall) and it cost me $354 for one tire. Good thing I have a tire insurance. My suggestion is to try to get a tire insurance at a reasonable amount.

anything soone and it may be built before it's available...
Considering they have changed the SOP on the Auto Tailgate more than I change my underwear (yes, I am a pig!) I would make sure it's actually IN PRODUCTION before you order.

Thanks for the input gents.
My M3 was very reliable over the last 4 years and 100 000KMs. Gonna be sad to see it go.
Hopefully be ordering the X5 in early O8 then.

Seems like there are a few common problems with the e70. Does BMW have fixes for these???

BMW usually fixes all of the issues....problem is some of these issues are software related and thus require firmware updates which can take a few hours to complete... dealers don't normally opt for an update unless you insist or the problem is pretty bad...

and because they're sofltware related they seem to appear/disappear on their own, oftentimes when you take it in for inspection/repair...(and since they don't notice a problem right away they don't do anything..)

other than that I believe there's been one official recall which I believe was a leaking fluid tank cap design...

Im coming from a e46 M3, so I know all about recalls, but at least BMW was quick to fix the issues. Glad to see they are ontop of it with the e70. Im hoping to order a 2008 model in Jan.
