Any known issues with the e70s?

Hello,
Im thinking of picking up a 2008 4.8 X5. Are there any known issues with them though, anything to look out for?
Thanks.

I had a problem with the Backup Camera but it was replaced and been working great so far. Intermittent issue with the Steering wheel not going down when starting but it is minor inconvinience. Oh and the stupid RTF, when you get a flat tire, be ready to purchase a new one. My suggestion get yourself a tire insurance but shop around for a reasonable price though. Overall, I am very happy with the (2007) X5.

More issues than there should be. Mainly electronics related (iPod, back up camera), parking brake, AC blower.

There are issues, some are worst than others. (you can use the search as mentioned earlier).

I've been hearing about issues with BMW in general for the longest time. None of these prevented me for getting into my 2nd X5.

I use the information in this forum to keep me informed and avoid extra trips to the dealer when it's not necessary. There's a lot of smart and knowledgable members in this forum that saved me trips to the dealer. Do not use the negative things as the deciding factor for getting an X5.

The bottom line, if you want to drive an X5, go order one. That's what I did a few months ago and I'm very happy with my ride. Good luck.

I have a 07 4.8. Is it perfect... no. Has any of the issues caused me to run back to the dealer .... also no. I have a short list when I do take it in but the issues are not major but little things almost always related to the fact that there are a some technology here and it tends to be quirky. Nothing that comes close to being a major issue though.

I spoke to a service tech earlier this month, he has said no major issues, just some small random ones.

5th month of ownership here - no issues whatsoever, whether its the parking brake, rear camera (except that it sucks a$$), etc etc.

*knock on wood*

Had mine since January. Only 2 issues, leaking windshield washer tank (fixed today) and steering wheel not lowering upon start. Still waiting for software fix. Other than that, fantastic ride. I had a brand new, loaded 328 as a loaner for the past 6 days, and after being spoiled by the X5, the 328 felt like a scooter.

it sounds like you'll be in good shape opting for the 08.. many software updates and other fixes will be incorporated into the new year...

I'm waiting for end of Oct, early Nov to place order...(want to make sure I'm close enough to getting the auto tailgate option)

anything soone and it may be built before it's available...
