Looks like people are getting deals very close to mine. There's a poster that just got $900 above invoice for brand new. It is happening whether you want to believe it or not.

I am going to go with "not" although $900 is more than right at invoice which is where you were close to. I am also going to guess he/she is a new member. Picking up an 07 for that kind of money is something I could see happening, but on a 08 I just do not see a dealer doing that kind of deal.

Possible exceptions: Dealer is trying to make amends for in some way wronging you, ie they wrecked your car on a test drive when it was in for service, the ordered the car for you with the wrong options/colors, etc.

Car was damaged (hailstorm, minor incident on the lot, etc.)

Car was optioned as Green with Hot Pink Leatherette interior

And most commonly: You are leasing the new car and/or trading in a vehicle. As someone who worked for a dealer for years (yes a BMW dealer), I can tell you either or both of these scenarios makes it possible to do just about anything with the numbers on paper. Want a M5 for $5000 under invoice? We can do it! (on paper)

Thumbs up

Very nice. What dealer did you get that deal through?
