Sorry meant June 07 production.....
yes you are right ..

but does that mean that the service dates and dues are different for every x5 ? or that they change while you are driving

shouldn't the oil be changed every year?? i've always been told to change it every "x" amount of miles but if you don't drive that often than change it at least once a year!

I'm not too crazy about waiting that long to change the oil....

The BMW service algorithm uses time as a parameter also. You can get what is called a "clock" service appear on the screen. It tends to be (I think!) for brake fluid more than engine oil. But could be wrong on that. Basically if you haven't done enough miles by a certain time, it pops up on the service indicator. I had it appear on Xena II once, but I think it was 18 months after the previous service...but to be honest I can't really remember....getting old!

For the $50 or $60 for oil....I would do it more often regardless of what the system is telling me. There is never any harm in changing more frequently...keeping parts well lubricated and the debris free and clear for longer performance.

In the US the BMW Free Maintenance Program will cover oil changes once a year, even if you haven't driven enough miles for the computer to tell you it's time.......at least on my 2005 E60 that is the way it's done. That gives the implication that BMW recommends a minimum of annual oil changes,....... or more often if you drive a lot and the computer tells you it's time.

This post is the reason why X5world is the best. A BMW TSB for the record. What could be better.

I change my oil evey 5000 K and use only 100% synthetic, but that's just me. Overkill? maybe, but we'll never know. I have always been a preventative maitenance guy. Knock on wood it has always served me well with no problems.
