so how does the Dice cradle work if you still need to plug something into the headset port in order to get sound?

from what you said it sounds like it's one cable with dual tips (one for the bottom of the unit, and the other for the top for sound)

does anyone have pics of the BMW provided cables for the iPOD??

I can take a picture later. It's an iPod connector on one side and a USB/audio dual connector on the other side. Dice can use a single connector (as can many other iPod accessories), but the bmw connector needs both.

looks like the BMW supplied connector you posted should work with the Dice cradle... or any other cradle that supports the standard IPOD plug..
