Speed limit because of the All Season tires
I am new in this forum and first of all I would like to say that it is a very good site for people who like BMW. I wanted to know Does anyone know about a speed limitation on X5 if you fit All season tires? If someone does know anything about that, I wanted to know if the limitation is set with the on board computer (I-drive) or otherwise. Many thanks in advance |

The electronic governor is set at 210 km/h ( 130mph ). The computers will interrupt the fuel supply at this point.

While Z-speed rated tires are capable of speeds in excess of 149 mph, how far above 149 mph was not identified. That ultimately caused the automotive industry to add W- and Y-speed ratings to identify the tires that meet the needs of new vehicles that have extremely high top-speed capabilities. On the E70 there is a higher speed setting if you have the 20" inch wheels. This can only be set by the dealer.

High, if you want to go to the limits of the car, dont use all season tires. Use high performance tires which are adapted on this use.
Just my 2 cents ! Gary |

1) the 20" y-spokes from the dealer do not come with all season tires 2) the limiter you are talking about is the top speed of the car, the OP is referring to the speed limit for the alarm that can be set via i-drive; two completely different topics |

If you have a build sheet for your deisel vehicle you can see if the option is selected: It will look like this: "ZSP and 2LE will add 840: Increase Top Speed Limiter" Cheers, KEF |
