Seat position memory

I have a setting for my seat position saved in M1. If I adjust the seat position before exiting the car, it will not return to the saved position when re-unlocking and entering the car w/ my Key (I have comfort access).

I have tried all the i-drive settings for "Last seat position"
deactivated, upon unlock, upon door open...it makes no difference.

Is the M1 seat position supposed to be assigned to the key and return to the saved position when you re-enter the car even if you moved the seats with the same key active?
