well the car thinks the driver wants to accommodate a short person!

what ever is done last is kept unless the setting is reverted by pressing the M1 or M2.

if you desire/ love to watch the seat move when you open the car, alternate keys when opening the door or get an Infinity or Acura that moves the seats every time to and from the 'default' position (which IMHO is totally worthless and pointless, its like cleaning and dirtying a house and cleaning again. why not just clean it once and leave it)
