For 111, 113, 115 and 118 it gives a symbol with a - then arrow(of sorts) then a +. To me this means power supply with ignition on which makes some sense(not quite enough though). Maybe the fuse burnt out prior to being able to test after replacement. Still, I don't understand why the center console is out as well now when it wasn't initially.

Also, its not the fuse in the male plug of the device as no devices are working and it worked in working plugs after the cigarette lighter failed.

I know it's been awhile but did you ever find a solution to the fuse problem? My center console plug is out too and I can't find the fuse for it. Fuse 111 was blown and when I replaced it my front plug worked again but not the center console. Any advise?

Good luck, seems like the only remedy is removing the entire center console...

Unless there is a fuse somewhere else, the three I mentioned control the three plugs associated with the center console. They all seem to blow so easily with my sirius radio, radar detector and and other devices, even with 25's instead of 20's. My solution was to run an always hot line up from a + battery post located on the floor adjacent to the battery connected to a plug I got from radio shack. Used a inline fuse of course and good ground. This way I can listen with the car off(why the other plugs don't work with power but the motor off is beyond me as well) or if a fuse goes with a full load in the back.

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate the reply. I need to check that fuse block again, becaused I could swear the only fuse I have installed of the ones mentioned is 111. I don't think there are any fuses in the other locations.

Dealer found it this morning. It is fuse # 113 that controls the center console plug. I took it in without an appointment thinking they could just tell me which fuse it was, but they ended up pulling the X5 in the service bay. It took them about 15 minutes and I was starting to wonder if they knew what they were doing. When they came out they said there was a penny lodged in the socket! I'm glad the fuse is in the rear fuse block and not up under the dash or behind the glovebox somewhere. I never did find a fuse block up there. I'm also glad to know the new owners of the local BMW dealership (Annapolis BMW) are more service oriented than the previous owners. Saturday morning without an appointment to fix something at no charge that was probably my fault is a good way to start a relationship with the customer.

I agree. Annapolis BMW is 5 star. Glad they fixed the problem!

No, I'm talking about the E70. I don't think the E53 has a plug in the console. My e53 is with my son so I can't check it.

Thank You also from Finland. I found this fuse with this tip!
I manual there is nothing about front lighter fuses!

I wonder where is rear (passenger) lighter fuse?
