There are two modes for the parking/DRL lights: normal and low power. When you have the DRLs activated, they operate on normal (35W) if the lght switch is either to off or auto. Once the headlight comes on, either from turning the switch or the auto headlights come on, the H8 goes into low power mode.

I wonder if the PIAA LEDs go into this low power mode? DawgBone?

To be honest, I really didn't know that they went into low power/high power modes...I'm still pretty new to the truck....

But I think they do...It's kinda hard for me to tell..

Video: Piaa LED Halos with lights on and off

Once I figure out what bulbs I need for the fogs(kinda turned off by HID fogs), I need to figure out how to rid of the amber corner markers...With the M3, I added resistors, and tied the corner(amber) bulbs into the side markers(for blinkers)....wonder if the same goes for this truck...

exactly, great HID color in parking/DRL mode. BUT once in low power mode it became less than HID color. More toward OEM color =yellow
I am thinking it is just the Piaa bulbs because it is not getting 35w full power? there only 2 H8 bulbs right? Or is there more?

The fog is a H11 55w Bulbs. I have Piaa Installed too.

Pls read detail.
with Piaa H8 in Normal, DRL and Parking Mode

Also Piaa H11 Fog with OEM H8 before I installed the PIaa H8

Please let me know if you any question!!
Enjoy!!!!

Please notices the Yellow color with Piaa H8 in normal mode/headlight ON
and Extreme White HID color in DRL mode and Parking Mode with the headlight OFF.
That is why I don't understand HID color in DRL low power/parking mode and back to yellow color on full power mode/headlight ON
I am thinking it is the Piaa bulbs not getting the Require watts for the yellow in color.

Excellent! The video definitely shows the normal and low power mode! But unlike the halogen bulbs, the LEDs remain the same color in low power mode. I guess I need to order those PIAA LEDs.........

Thanks!

Not at all....but stangely enough there is flickering when viewed though the viewfinder of a camera...I guess it's kind of like trying to take video of an old CRT type monitor, where you can see the scan lines. Why? I have no idea as I would think the LED is a solid/steady light source...

But there is absolutely no flickering when looking at them with a naked eye...

Just for comparison - here are those MTECs in the DRL and fogs...taken during the day (to see how there are in daylight). The LEDS above look nicer - deeper color.
