They look great, the lighting seems very solid all around the ring, and not scattered. The next best thing are the MTECs which are not too far off from the piaas. The only thing is mtec's are $30 bucks compared to the piaa's which are around $300-$375 dollar range ? If possible can you take pictures or video of the led's from at an angle above and from the sides ? That is the only way to get a sense of how they look in real life because most of the time the pictures make lights look better than they really are. Thanks!

Thank you very much DawgBone.
I've read so many contradicting things about different brands like Hoens, Mtec, GP Thunder, ... Sometimes, people are happy, other times they say they are deceived. Hard to get an objective advice.
So I have just order H499 PIAA LED Angel Eye BMW E70 upgrade kit, quite expensive but the information and pictures you gave convinced me.
I'll let you know when they will be in place and will try to publish pictures Before/After.

I just came upon this thread but one option we have to upgrade the lights are our Predator Xenix Angel Eye Upgrade Bulbs. These will swap out the stock halogens for a hyperwhite bulb that will offer a better match to the OEM xenon output.

The real problem is that the DRLs operate on two levels, and on the low power mode any halogen will look yellow. I haven't seen any bulb that looks white when running at the low power setting, which is when the headlight are on as well.

The PIAA H499 use LEDs, which have the same color output despite the power input.

I'm getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger on the PIAAs. I keep watching the video of the headlights turning on........

Sorry guys, new to the E70. I do not want to work hard to figure it out, but how do you access the fog light lamps? I understand it is H11 so I will try a Xenonmatch from Bimmian.com. I will also try the H8 for the DRL, my understanding it does light the Halo too. Even if it is dimmed with the low beam on, will be at least whiter than the yellow hint the lights have now. Anybody can help and elaborate on the process..? Thanks

make sure the H8 is 35 watts. you dont want to burn up any wires using a 55 bulbs. the fog light is easy to access.. just remove the black plastic cover on your bumper right under the fog light.. just pulled and it should pop out... and reach your hand up to twist the socket loose.. and do the same to the other side.. it should take about 15 minutes..

anyone know if we have the same bulbs all around as the M3? My neighbor just got one and his lights look a lot brighter... I doubt he's had a chance to mod anything yet.

Looks awesome. Congrats! Are those the same ones priracing is selling (halo rings) L.E.D.'s? Where did you get the H.I.D. fogs from and where did you mount the ballasts and did you have to upgrade or cut the factory harness for the H.I.D.'s?
