Actually, alot of kewl stuff can be done by means of the Iphone...And now that Apple has decided to let 3rd party devs write to their platform, BMW could introduce a slew of neat features...even stuff that's already offered by the Iphone...email...stocks...weather...calender...not es... Hell, It may even persuade me to buy a Mac...

Good point. There will always be newer and better. Just have to find our happy spot.
I doubt the US will see the internet in the front of the car in the near future though. We can't even drive with TV in the front. Though it may frustrate us good drivers, it's actually a good thing since there are a lot of bad drivers out there too. |

According to BMW the online function is not supported by the current TCU that is available in the USA. Personally I'm all for interent use in the car. Given the traffic situation in the states and the fact that you can barely break 15 mph in major cities it will be something to do while you are getting later and later for your appointment...
Of note though, looks like europe already has high beam assistant, so that will surely be coming down the pipeline to the USA. I still don't understand why the X5 doesn't have night vision though (USA or Europe) since it seems the most obvious choice for this car. Last edited by X5 Meister; 04-15-2008 at 03:47 PM. |
