Hopefully so...If anything, it would be rather useful for IDrive to pull this info from the IPhone's Google widget...whether via USB or BT...They could even introduce internet via the Iphone's EDGE service or WiFi...although IDrive is rather clumsy compared to the IPhone touchscreen, and I would prefer to just use the Iphone....

Actually, alot of kewl stuff can be done by means of the Iphone...And now that Apple has decided to let 3rd party devs write to their platform, BMW could introduce a slew of neat features...even stuff that's already offered by the Iphone...email...stocks...weather...calender...not es...

Hell, It may even persuade me to buy a Mac...

According to BMW the online function is not supported by the current TCU that is available in the USA. Personally I'm all for interent use in the car. Given the traffic situation in the states and the fact that you can barely break 15 mph in major cities it will be something to do while you are getting later and later for your appointment...

Of note though, looks like europe already has high beam assistant, so that will surely be coming down the pipeline to the USA. I still don't understand why the X5 doesn't have night vision though (USA or Europe) since it seems the most obvious choice for this car.
