If you've not already done so, delete any current reference in your iDrive to the (old) Palm and start over to pair the phone with the iDrive system. I don't know any other tricks to make things work.
I have a Treo 650 (uses Palm OS, not Windows Mobile) and the address book will not load at all. However if I transfer key contacts into the favorites part of the program, those more limited number of contacts will show up. Hope some of this helps!

I use a Samsung I760 (Verizon) with Windows Mobile 6. Though it was not on the 'approved' list, it pairs and sychs flawlessly. (I have a 2008 X5)
I am very happy with the phone too. |

Hey Robert - I had a similar issue. You have to remember the pin code that you used to pair the 1st phone when you try to pair the second phone. If you can't, you have to go to the dealership to get your BT pin reset.

I have a Treo 700p. No problem pairing with my 08x5. Initially I had a problem but as soon as I found the instructions online I was set. You choose the pin during setup. On our previous 05 x5 you had to get the pin from the dealer. Not on this one. I picked the code. Delete the previous phone first. The pairing process was different than before. Follow the instructions exactly.

Blackberries work the most flawless with it, I havent tried an Iphone which I am sure works flawless as well.
Any recent blackberry will give you full synchronisation of contacts. I have connected many different phones and many do work as well, but with many others I have had problems with contacts that had multiple numbers, BT picked one and never imported any info about other number. With Blackberry it imported all unique numbers and if you had the same number twice for your contact it ignored the info. |

Proveg, which Nav unit did this work on? I mean showing the additional numbers on your contacts? I have an e46 M3 with the Mk4 nav and bluetooth, with my Nokia 6300 it syncs the contacts however some of my contacts have more than one number stored and there doesn't seem to be a way of viewing them to select the one you want to call. When hit the call button on the contact name it phones their default number. The only way round it is for me to input duplicate contact names for each of their numbers which doubles the size of my list and scroll time!

Verizon XV6800 (Sprint Mogul) pairs ok. The only issue I've seen is a delay in accepting a call.
