Aircon off when towing
Hi everyone,
I need help to fix my aircon. Most strangely if I attach anything to the electric connector near the trailer tow hitch (I tried with two different trailers, so this is not an issue with the trailer) the air con switches off without warning. The air con button lights up but there is no cooling. I think this is some sort of stupid glitch as towing most often happens when someone goes for a road trip with a caravan or boat trailer and its most probably in summertime when air con is absolutely necessary. I cant believe disabling air con is a factory default while towing. I have almost been cooked on my trip in Greece, eventually removed the connector and had no lights on the trailer - which is not only illegal but dangerous, too. Nevertheless there was no other way to survive under the hot sun. Please help, is there any workaround? Is it a software glitch again? BMW service just had given me big eyes and had no idea what this thing was all about.
