I thought there were some unique BMW (DesignWorks) bicycles also?
Maybe it was Porsche or someone else I am thinking of. I do know some of BMW bikes are absolutely cool... but also multiple thousands of dollars...

The rack is cool, but only if your bike is that clean. Guess they didn't feel they needed to transport the front wheel.

I do not want to add the trailer hitch and my bike is too heavy for the tow hook rack. This has been my solution for the past three seasons. Decided on this ideal after the umteenth time my bike was entangle on the throw rug I used or the third row seat belts. The constant dirt on carpet and accidental contact with tailgate/upholstery was getting old, and I was out of new cuss words.
Pretty simple, 65x36 plywood. 4 inch fixed casters, blocks of wood at other end with 80 grit sandpaper stapled to bottoms for traction. I place rubber bands on the disk brake levers and the bike remains very stationary. The small step ladder fits neatly underneath the plywood during travel. In the event of an emergency stop there is a old shop vac wand the passes through a tight area of the bike frame directly to the floor via hole I made. Obviously only one bike can be carried but for me this works great. |
