Ha this made me look like a complete fool in a parking lot in my 07 a few years back. I could not figure out what was going on for the life of me. I am pretty sure you have to have your seat belt on as well, provided the door is open? Then a few months later, the sensor in the door went on the fritz and my car kept throwing itself into park because it thought I had the door open, which I did not of course, but I did NOT have my seat belt on! Crazy outsourced german electronics.
