It needs to be filled about every 15,000 miles. It holds 5.8 gallons and once out of warranty, it will be about $10.00 per gallon is what I've heard.

[quote=Craig]I was just curious if anyone else has ordered the diesel? I have a week 49 build. First week in December. I don't want to take delivery until Jan 2nd, so I don't have to pay property taxes next year. I would rather pay them on my current SUV.

I thought you were waiting for the new iDrive...that's what I'm doing.

It was confirmed there's no new idrive in the E70 till at least MY2010. And while you can hope that happens in March, we highly doubt it.

Two years is a long time....I've decided I'm buying an X5 diesel or the 5 series wagon, which ever one comes out first with the new iDrive. For me, buying a car with the old iDrive is like buying a computer with DOS after Windows has already been been announced. I just can't do it.

I didn't order the navigation because of the old I drive. I also got a good price from the dealer.

It sounds like you made some compromises now that down the road you may regret...it's probably not too late to postpone your deal. From your past postings, it's clear you wanted the new iDrive.

^ I sort of agree that you may regret not getting nav even if it is the old idrive. I don't know if you plan to keep the car for a long time, but having nav helps re-sale (and you get to use nav w/ traffic info which really has saved me a bunch of times). If you are keeping the car for a long time, it also gives you a wider screen that looks a ton better imo. If it's just a lease, then I guess it doesn't matter at all. As for tech pkg, I got the camera anyway in hopes of a superior-camera, retrofit kit being available down the road... which may be a lot easier to implement than if there were no system already installed. Again, depends on how long you plan to keep it.
